The Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV - Superb Picture Quality

Sony Bravia EX700 Series 52-Inch LED HDTV

It seems Sony are starting to make a concerted move into LED TV through their Bravia range. To be honest I have been surprised that they have been a little slow on the uptake with LED TV. I've no idea why, perhaps perfecting the technology, but it is very unlike Sony. However they now seem to be well on the road to rectifying that little mystery with the Bravia EX700 Led TV range.

The Sony Bravia EX700 52-Inch LED TV is an outstanding LED TV at a great price. It offers Full 1080p High Definition at 120 Hz. This configuration gives incredible contrast and ultra smooth high speed picture delivery. In short the Sony BRAVIA EX700-Series LED HDTV is an outstanding new addition to LED TV.

It also gives you full internet connectivity both hardwired and wireless. This means that you have everything that the internet can offer in terms of video, TV programs, movies and of course music using apps. You get everything from Netflix to you Tube to Slacker and Amazon Video on Demand on instant access.

So, I was overjoyed when my good Buddy, Pete went and got one! I was even more delighted when I got a call from him asking if I'd like to go round and have a sneak peek! What a silly question!

The Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV - A Great Viewing Experience

Pete took delivery of his Sony Bravia EX700 52-Inch LED TV a couple of weeks back and I immediately noticed the brilliantly beautiful picture. As with all LEDs the colors are vibrant and deep and the blacks have such incredible depth, I think the dpeth of black is what really helps "make" LED TV. And of course LED HD also ensures everything is super crisp and clean.

So, we went into Pete's family room where he's set up his new Sony Bravia EX700 and I really liked his set up which help really bring out the best from the TV. He's got a Pioneer Elite SC-25 receiver, LG Blu-Ray, Boston Accoustics surround sound speakers.

For an average sized family room, this really is a set up that suits superbly. We put on Avatar to view and it really was absolutely the right movie to demo the TV and system capabilities - a truly incredible experience. The action sequences were accurate and crisp, no motion blur at all. The colors stunning, vibrant, vivid, pick any superlative -it was outstanding.

After our viewing session Pete gave me some further insights into his new Sony Bravia LED HD TV.

Firstly he is delighted with his purchase. In particular he felt picture clarity and quality are excellent. He's traded up to the Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV from a Samsung 46 Inch LCD. His feeling was that the picture is better but only marginally. To be honest, I thought there was more of a positive difference than Pete did with the Bravia coming up very well.

The colors appear to me to be brighter, more vivid and the picture is efinitely crisper despite the screen being 6 inches bigger. Pictures from his Blu-Ray were unbelievable, sure Avatar is a great movie to demo with, but the full 1080p from the Blu-Ray totally enhanced experience and I'm pretty sue that is down in no small order to the way Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV performs.

Top Notch Functionality on the Sony Bravia EX700 Series

The jack pack on the Sony Braviz EX700 52 is outstanding, you even get a wireless dongle courtesy of Sony! However, Pete hardwired up to to his in-house LAN so we didn't test the wireless capability, I've no doubt it will be good though.

He did say that getting hooked up to his LAN was pain free and pretty easy and that streaming from his PC via the network was effortless and he exprienced no trouble in getting it sorted out. HD video streaming seemed fair, we had a quick look, although obviously inferior to a full 1080p HD source such as Blu-Ray or HD TV box.

Like most LED's thee Sony Bravia EX700 is a fantastic looking TV set. The screen is surrounded by a really nice gloss black surround. It will probably be just as difficult as any TV to keep free of finger marks and dust, but it does look great all shiney and new!

And as with all LED TVs the Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV has the benefit of far lower energy consumption. So savings and "green" too.

There are a couple of minor downsides, the biggest of which is that the channel change was a bit slow, this is particularly disappointing as it's something Samsung have cured, my UB468000 is much quicker!. The most marked delay seemed to be when changing between channels with different resolutions 1080p to 720p.

And finally the SD picture is not brilliant. In truth though, I am nitpicking somewhat.

Overall the Sony Bravia EX700 52 Inch LED TV is a great bit of kit providing a superb viewing experience. I know Pete is delighted and highly recommends this new addition to the Sony stable..and he is very discerning when it comes to his HD TV!

It's a very nice TV. The sound quality is not so great but probably competitive with other thin screen TVs. just get a good add-on sound system.
